Hello all!

I have decided to partake in the Revlon run for women’s cancer on May 9th in Los Angeles. I have a few friends who have fought breast cancer. My oldest brother passed away from brain cancer so it’s only fitting when i heard of the event to join! Its a 5K run/walk. I am looking to give more support to events like these! so if you hear of any let me know :)

29 tips to going green

Change begins at home!

April 17, 2009

Wasup People!!!!!!!

Ok so here’s my first step. I figure change begins in the home. My first step is recycling!! You know paper plastic glass containers and so forth. My friend Misty laughed at me last nite because Im not the greatest at sorting out plastic bottles and cardboard juice containers (recycling). I dont even know if my apartment building recycles even if i separated them and put them in the dumpster. I think I have to bring my container to a recycling center. I will figure that out this weekend. I also just realized my grocery bags. Im cutting out the use of those plastic grocery bags and grabbing up a couple go green reusable bags they sell at the supermarket! Check out these facts

* Between 500 billion and one trillion plastic grocery bags are consumed worldwide each year.

* About 100,000 birds  die annually from encounters with plastic bags,

* About 100,000 about whales, turtles, and other marine animals who suffer abysmal fates thanks to windblown plastic bags that pollute their environments.

* About 12 million barrels of oil are required to produce enough plastic bags to appease our needs

Paper bags and recycling paper bags are just as bad if not worse than plastic. The list goes one.  Im thinking by cutting out the use of plastic bags from the grocery store is a start and recycling by plastic containers and cardboard juice containers is a start.

***Any advice, help or just though from any one will be greatly appreciated****

My friend Michelle Gralow put me up on this site.. Thanks to her!. Check it the hell out!

Peace and Love

What is fricking up!!!!!!! :)

Ok so Im about to embark on a new journey, challenge if you will in life that I’ve named “Finding Forever” (Shout out to the common album!). Its my new found journey to make my life a more positive influence on humanity and the environment. Not an organization or foundation just me. I will be learning different ways to help better other people’s lives and the world around me. I will inquire advice and motivation from anyone who is willing to give. Please don’t be shy. Over the next 7 to 8 months I will be slowly getting better at it so on Jan 1st 2010 I will be running on all cylinders! I’m not sure what to expect or how hard this transformation will be but I hope what I’m doing becomes contagious. Check back on my blog and Facebook page to see updates to different things I’m involved in. There are a lot of different reasons as to what made me want to do this or do this now. To sum it up;

If ever I walk away

Or my heart decays

May my positive influence on life

Be as common as the cold!

Cheers!

If  you know me. You know I love my culture and every thing about it. I soul food, Jazz lounges, spoken word and hip hop. Ive been going to this spot in Inglewood on La brea near Manchester called ‘Savoy’  They have a comedy show every tuesday and every first Wednesday a spoken word. Last night’s Comedy show was funny as hell! by far the best ive been to. Hosted by Rodney Perry and all star comedian Bill Bellamy blessed the mic. Man i was in tears the whole nite.. Free to get in with a two drink minimum.. Eat your heart out Laugh factory. I love my culture man and my communities.

A little bit of history lesson… Savoy was  the name of a classy urban club in harlem during the harlem renaissance where the likes of Duke Ellington and Malcom X use to call home.  Thats the type of  entertainment  a proud Inglewood owner is trying to bring to Inglewood and man he did!!

Shout outs to Savoy Entertainment. look them up and check them out :)

My vacation in Rome!

June 30, 2008

Ok so ive decided to try and post more frequent!…

A couple weeks ago the most monumental thing happened to me. I went to Rome for vacation!.. Yes Rome. Your first question is how was it!!!!!!? my reply……..beyond amazing!!!!! I saw everything from Sistine chapel inside the Vatican, to the Spanish steps, pantheon, Villa Borghese, to the Beloved Colosseum. I threw back drinks outside the Colosseum at night with a group of international students and travelers and went on a Italian pub crawl. I saw a lot of Michaelangelo’s and Caravaggio’s works of Art. I stood over Raphael’s toomb and saw where they cremated Julius Caesar. You name it i Saw it! I took a lot of pictures all available on my mypace album. It was great Truly a dream and a blessing come true. It really opened my eyes and my perspective on life. It was like I closed a chapter on a part of my life and opened up a new one.

The fulfillment of an artist is to not only attain the freedom of expressing your own art but to also be able to view, travel and appreciate the great works of others. Timeless as they are. To think that you were able to stand by actual sculptures, paintings etc made by great artists centuries before your time is nothing short of amazing..

I’ve been a Titans fan since their Superbowl loss by a fricking yard! a few years back. I loved how McNair played. Dude is a warrior. In the wake of recent events I’ve moved to Alabama for 10 months which places me an hour and a half drive from the titans home stadium baby!!!!! I got the privelage of going to their opening pre-season game against the Redskins (boooooo!) We lost buy hey I got to sit front row.. Monumental. Since then I’ve bought tickets to about 4 season home games I cant wait! Now im still a fan of Steve McNair but i gotta follow my titans and the kid Vince young looks really promising. Stay Tuned!
